Panaji (Goa) The Goa Bank Employees Association has decided to support the proposed All India Bank Strike tomorrow, a call given by the United Forum of Bank Unions comprising all the Officers and Employees Unions in the Bank.
“The call has been endorsed by Goa Bank Employees’ Association and all the members of UFBU-Goa comprising of all the Bank employees and Officers in Goa will participate in the Strike,” the association general secretary A M Pereira said.
The members of the constituent unions of United Forum of Bank Unions (AIBEA, AIBOC, NCBE, AIBOA, BEFI, INBEF, INBOC, NOBW, NOBO) have listed down 17 issues and demands including not to privatize Public Sector Banks, Stop plans of mergers and consolidation of Banks, not to write off corporate Non-Performing Assets (NPAs), to declare willful Default of Bank loans as criminal offence, etc.
The unions have also demanded implementing recommendations of Parliamentary Committee on recovery of NPAs, ensure accountability of Top Management/Executives for bad loans and put in place stringent measures to recover bad loans, to immediately fill up posts of Employee/Officer Director(s) in Bank(s) and implement Compassionate Appointment Schemes in Banks as per Government guidelines among others.
