Panaji (GOA) The off shore casinos operational in the water of Mandovi are asked not to serve the liquor to its customers till Wednesday midnight and on August 28 in the wake of by-election scheduled on Panaji assembly constituency on August 23.
The counting will take place on August 28.
North Goa Collector Nila Mohanan told reporters that dry-days are declared in the Panaji and Valpoi assembly constituency in the view of elections.
The dry days are in force from Monday 5.00pm till midnight of the polling day and throughout day and night on August 28.
“The off shore as well as land casinos in the jurisdiction of Panaji constituency, is directed not to serve the liquor during the dry-days,” she said adding that normal functioning of casinos will continue.
Mohanan informed that the department of Excise is been asked to keep close watch on the casinos to ensure that no liquor is served.
