Panaji (Goa) This is certainly going to be a bloody Monday for anyone of the political party – either BJP or Congress. The counting of votes for Panaji and Valpoi by elections would be held tomorrow. The results are expected to be out within three hours.
This means by afternoon the entire situation would be clear. The elections are predicted to have repurcussions on the political scene in the State.
It is largely presumed that Parrikar would not be ditched by his Panaji voters. But if he is ditched and Girish Chodankar manages to be victorious, then the State government will have a change of guard.
In such circumstances what is the stand that Goa Forward Party or MGP or Independents will take is crucial as everyone has said that they are with the government for Manohar Parrikar to be the chief minister.
Congress has already announced that their victory in the election will result in them forming the government. Their enthusiasm was witnessed during the election campaign.
In Valpoi too, Vishwajit Rane is expected to win with a big margin. If that does not happen, the count of congress will go up by one. Ravi Naik has put his entire strength behind his son, Roy.
While it will be too premature to predict anything, The Neutral View will bring to you latest updates from the counting station tomorrow. Keep logged in our website tomorrow.
