PANAJI (GOA) The Goa government on Thursday extended the ban on the entry of Sri Ram Sena chief Pramod Mutalik into Goa for a further period of 60 days.

Mutalik entry into Goa State was first banned in August 2014 and was extended subsequently by the State district megistrate.
In a freah order issued today evening, the district magistrate has bannes the entry of Mutalik and any of his associates or members within the jurisdiction of Goa for a period of 60 days with effect from September 6, 2017 under section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973.
The step has been taken to prevent every possibility of disturbance to law and order and danger to public safety due to their aggressive statements or speeches that could hurt the sentiments of certain groups of the public and instigate violence, thus adversely affecting public peace and tranquility, the order stated.
Mutalik had in august 2015 moved Supreme Court challenging the Bombay High court order banning his entry into Goa to maintain peace and harmoney. However, the Apex Court too upheld the order.
