GOA: MAMMOGRAPHY VANS SCRAPPED BEFORE TIME, GOVT ORDERS INQUIRY, SECRETARY DELAYS

Panaji (Goa) State government has initiated inquiry seeking the reasons why mammography vans introduced by the health department were scrapped before their life was completed.

State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane had ordered inquiry into the act of scrapping the vehicles which were done during Laxmikant Parsekar government.

State Health Secretary Sudhir Mahajan was asked to inquire into the action of then government, two months back. The secretary was asked to submit the report within a month.

When contacted, Rane said that he is still waiting for the report. He said that such a laxity on the part of the secretary will not be tolerated.

He said that mammography vans were introduced to help the common people but were scrapped midway without giving any reason.
