Panaji (GOA) The 48th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI), beginning from November 20, will have ‘future of cinema’ as its focus.
The nine-day annual event will take place from November 20-28.
The first review meeting of IFFI 2017 was held today afternoon which was chaired by Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Smriti Irani and Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
Speaking to reporters after meeting, Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) vice chairman Rajendra Talak said that Union Minister wants to bring in change in IFFI. “She wants to bring future cinema into this festival. The focus will be about the new cinema,” he said.
Talak said that efforts are on to make the event people friendly and artist friendly.
For the very first time since 2004, the National Films Division Corporation (NFDC) has also joined hands with Directorate of Film Festival (DFF) and Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) to host the festival.
The meeting was attended by officials of ESG, DFF and NFD.
