The Revolutionary Goans group called a press conference on Friday, September 15, to stress on the issue of employing non-Goans in various units across Goa.
Speaking to the media persons, founder of the Revolutionary Goans group, Manoj Parab said that, as per the data available in August 2017, Goa has an unemployment ratio of 7.9 percent which is the highest in the country.
“The companies established in Goa avail all the benefits as well as use all the resources of Goa but provide employment opportunities for the people outside Goa by keeping interviews for the jobs outside the state. This is a clear move to fool Goans,” said Manoj Parab. Parab also pointed out the recent move by Cipla company at Verna which had kept its interviews in Karwar.
Parab further said that these companies hire their own people for the top level positions and harass Goans who are working at lower level by depriving them of promotions.
“If these companies have so much issues with hiring Goans, then why do they set up their business operations in Goa?” questioned Parab.
