Panaji (Goa): The City Corporation has reached out to the media seeking its participation in the Swachh Bharat Rally, being held on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2.

Commissioner Ajit Roy (IAS) has requested the media houses to depute 15 staff each to the rally.

“The Corporation of the City of Panaji will be organizing “Swachh Bharat Rally” on October 2, 2017 at 7:30am from Corporation Office Building. The Rally will start from Corporation Office Building via Domino’s Pizza to Fatima Chamber on  A B Rad then on the 18 June Road and it will end at Garcia De Orta (Municipal Garden) Panaji. You may kindly depute 15 staff from your office to the said rally,” the officer said in the letter.

The communique comes after the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation decided to celebrate 3rd year anniversary  of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) by taking up various run up events from 15th-October 2, 2017 with the theme “Swachhata Hi Seva.”
