Panaji (Goa) State government has hiked the dearness allowance (DA) to its employees and grant-in-aid institutes from October, along with pending arrears from July.
On lines with the Central Government enhancing the the DA to its employees from the existing rate of 4 percent to 5 percent of the basic pay per month, with effect from July 1, 2017, the Goa government too implemented the same for its State employees.
“It has been decided by the State government to extend to its employees and employees of grant-in-aid educational institutions, the benefit of payment of DA at revised rates as sanctioned to central government employees,” the memorandum issued by Under Secretary Finance (exp) Sushama Kamat, reads.
“The enhanced DA would be paid to the employees along with salaries for the month of October, with arrears from the month of July to September,” she said.
The hike in DA will be applicable to only those employees, whose basic pay scale is below Rs 4,600 per month.
