GSPCB FOR ‘EASE OF DOING’ BUSINESS; GIVES RELIEF TO IPB APPOVED PROJECTS

Panaji (Goa) In what could give major relief to the project proponents, whose projects are cleared by the Investment Promotion Board (IPB), the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) has decided not to demand for No Objection Certificates (NOC) from local bodies as its mandatory precondition for grant of Consent to establish and operate to these projects.
For this purpose, the Board will be amending the existing Goa Water and Air Rules with specific reference to IPB, to exclude prior permission of Panchayat, municipalities, City Corporation for the project activity has been granted in-principal approval by IPB.
The project proponent will have to pay five times the actual fee for the Consent to get benefit of this special consideration.
The move comes as a part to encourage and promote Ease of Doing Business in Goa.
All these while, the NOC from the local authorities was mandatory before applying for the Consent to Establish and Operate.
