GOA’S TANISHA, LYDIA ENTER ALL INDIA BADMINTON PRE-QUARTERS

Goa’s Under 15 Girls doubles pairing of Tanisha Crasto and Lydia Barreto knocked out 5th seeds Janani Ananthakumar and Shruti Moghe of Karnataka 21-13, 11-21, 21-14 to move into the pre-quarterfinals of the All India Badminton Ranking Championship which is currently underway at Multipurpose Hall, Fatorda, Margao.

 Tanisha who won two silver medals at the recently concluded Jaipur Open Nationals also moved into the U-15 Girls singles pre-quarters with a comfortable 21-8, 21-8 win over Gujarat’s Ishita Shah. Shourya Joshi and Tejas Tendulkar from Goa played well to qualify for the main draw before bowing out 21-15, 21-11 to Sataksh Singh and Sai Satya Sarvesh.

 In other Goa’s round-1 Main Draw matches, Goa’s Lydia Barreto lost to Karnataka’s Vijetha Harish 21-11, 21-12. In U-15 Girls singles, Shourya Joshi(Goa) lost 15-21, 9-21 to Karnataka’s  Saneeth D. S. In U-15 Boys singles,  Arjun Fallary / Rudra Dukle (Goa) lost to Tonmoy Bikash Boruah /  Ayad Rashid (Assam) 18-21, 15-21,  Rudra Pai Dukle (Goa) lost 11-21, 18-21 to Koushik Talasani while Arshia Gautam (Goa) lost 16-21, 15-21 to Laya D.V. in Girls singles U-15.
