Panaji (Goa) Shiv Sena Unit of Goa while wishing people happy Diwali has appealed State Public Works Department minister Sudin Dhavalikar to weed out narakasur from his department whose conduct is leading to pot hole ridden roads.

“As we are all ready to set on blaze effigies of Demon Narakasura to mark the occasion of Diwali, Shiv Sena also wishes the mentality of ‘Narakasura’, which has been gaining roots in our political system,” Sena’s state spokesman Rakhi Naik has said in a statement released here.

“While there are several issues, which Shiv Sena has been raising during the year, on this occasion, we would like to bring to the attention about the grave issue about dilapidated condition of our roads,” she said.

Referring to the statement by Dhavalikar she has said :I was happy to read the statement by our Public Works Department minister Sudin Dhavalikar appealing people to celebrate Krishna and not Narakasura. The statement is much important from point of view of current context.

Shiv Sena also appealed Dhavalikar to follow the same by weeding out ‘Narakasura’ mentality in his department which has left these roads pothole ridden causing several accident resulting in many people losing their lives and many getting injured badly.

“I wish that Dhavalikar will target this ‘Narakasura’ mentality by ordering his department, first to inquire into the bad road conditions and also taking up the work of repairing them on war footing,” Naik said.

Dhavalikar should point out ‘Narakasuras’ amongst the officials from his own department, who have been compromising with the quality of roads to make money to fill in their own pockets. Also all the ‘Narakasura’ contractors who have been executing poor works should be blacklisted.

Shiv Sena while wishing Happy Diwali to all the brothers and sisters, also appeal them to speak out against the ‘Narakasura’ mentality which is gaining root in our political and governmental system. It is only then we will usher in real ‘Deepawali,’ she has said.
