ONE YEAR IMPRISONMENT TO THOSE INVOLVED IN ILLEGAL LAND CONVERSIONS; MINISTER

Panaji (Goa) BJP led coalition government proposes to make illegal land conversions as criminal act by introducing one year imprisonment for the violators by amending the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Act.

Minister for TCP Vijay Sardessai announced this today, while alleging involvement of non-Goans in such act.

 “I have raised the issue with Chief Minister demanding that some serious steps needs to be taken to curb this. Chief Minister has asked me to put up a section by which one year imprisonment to those involved in illegal conversions,” he said.

“We will have to amend the TCP Act for that. IPC section will have to be introduced,” he said.
