Calangute (Goa)  Calangute Police have busted one prostitution racket during a raid conducted in evening on 25/10/2017 at Nr. Fat fish restaurant, Agarwado Calangute. 

PI Jivba Dalvi informed that he had received reliable and confirmed information from a source  about some pimps operating from Calangute amd moving around with victim girls trying to deliver them to customers for money.  Accordingly presence of NGO members Smt Andrea pereira of “Severa “was secured and a team was formed which was led by PI Jivba Dalvi. Based upon the information a trap was laid and the police team camped at Agarwado at various locations to apprehend the pimps. Further upon getting clue of the movement of the accused persons while the deal was materialising  police arrested the 02 pimps namely  1. Ashish Sharma, age-32 yrs, R/o Pune, Maharashtra and 2) Meghna Nair, age-39 yrs, R/o Thane, Mumbai  . Both the rescued victim girls have been  found to be native of West Bengal.   A total of 07 mobile phones have been seized from the accused persons during  the raid. Thectim girls were prduduced before the Dy. collector  and further lodged in Protective Home Merces for safe custody and protection. The team conducting the raid was led by PI Jivba Dalvi and consisted of PSI Videsh Pilgaonkar, Kirtidas Gaude, police head constable Subhash Malvankar, police constables Vidyanand Amonkar, Sameer Sawant, Laxman Patekar, Harsha Padloskar  and Deepa Gurav. Pi Jivba Dalvi informed that as it is the start of the tourist season some anti social persons will try to start such illegal activities but all efforts are being made to put a full stop on such activities. Further investigation is in progress with PI Jivba Dalvi under the supervision of SP North Smt. Chandan Choudhary, IPS and SDPO Shri Serafin Dias.
