Panaji (Goa): The Long pending request of Goa for the creation of separate cadre is likely to be heard in the meeting of Joint Cadre Authority (JCA), scheduled this month.

Goa had moved a proposal in 2014. Goa has been sourcing officers from AGMUT cadre-Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and UTs.

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Thursday met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi and held a discussion on AGMUT cadre. Parrikar pressed for State demand for separate cadre.

The cabinet had resolved to form a separate AIS cadre for Goa in 2014. The state has nearly 40 officers of the all-India cadre in service.
