GOA POLICE TAKES OBJECTION TO ICICI AD, QUESTIONS WISDOM OF MAKING AD DISRESPECTING ELDERS

Panaji  (Goa) Renowned private bank ICICI’s home loan TV commercial has not gone down well with the Chief of Goa Police who has launched a scathing attack on the wisdom of its makers. 
 
Director General of Goa Police Muktesh Chander has taken to Twitter to express his anguish over the ad. 
 
“In this TV advertisement of ICICI bank for home loan, a child is shown kicking his old parents or grandparents away from the bed as he wants to sleep on the whole bed himself.I find this Ad very obnoxious & bad in taste.
@ICICIBank, there are better ways of offering home loans.” he tweeted that has so far received around 131 Likes and 84 Retweets. 
 
The officer has also received comments from many Twitteratis supporting his views. Several through their comments have questioned about what family values was it preaching by way of this ad.
 
“Very true.It is totally in bad taste.In our traditional family life, younger members use not to seat even in front of elders out of respect,” user of this social media application Anil Kr Sharma has posted. 
 
Another user Amit Tiwari posted, “Very truly said sir even we in a family was also thinking this is against our culture it’s of course attack on our values.” 
 
“Shame on such advertisements, kindly take action on this, send them a notice to ICICI bank,” shubhamkhanna said. 
 
There were also users who advised sending an official complaint to the bank.
