Panaji (Goa): The State Government in an order issued on Thursday has appointed Additional Solicitor General Atmaram Nadkarni to continue appearing on behalf of Goa in sensitive matters like mining before the Supreme Court and National Green Tribunal (NGT).

In a notification issued by Under Secretary (law) Trupti Manerkar, it is been said that Nadkarni will continue to appear for Goa in highly sensitive matters like mining matters and other important matters before the Supreme Court of India and other Tribunals regarding NGT.

However, it has clarified that Nadkarni would appear as Senior Advocate and not as Additional Solicitor general.

Manerkar said that the appointment has been done following approval from the Union Ministry for Law and Justice.
