Panaji (Goa): The ongoing investigation into mining scam could add woes to former chief minister Digambar Kamat, who is himself being on radar. In an unexpected move, the special investigation team (SIT) has summoned his close aide and former mines secretary Rajeev Yaduvanshi for questioning tomorrow.

The IAS officer who is currently posted in Delhi as Health Secretary is directly involved in illegal condonation. “He is being summoned in the main case (involving have 180 plus mining leases where Kamat is also an accused) and another case of condensation of delay,” SP Kartik Kashyap said.
It is learned that the SIT has unearthed files where Yaduvanshi has put up nothing clearly indicating illegality in mining. Sources said that the officer was very close to the Congress ex-CM and served at Secretariat on this policy from 2006 to 2011.
Kamat has already undergone series of questioning in the multi-crore mining scam, consisting of 13 cases of which two are left to be charge-sheeted.
Meanwhile, in the main case, the first arrested accused Jacob Philip has been directed by the High Court to remain present in the trial court for relief in the modification of bail order by Monday. The SIT has alleged the accused who is now on bail has violated the bail conditions.
About 4-5 mines traders have face arrest in the main case that saw the first arrest of a government officer this week. Assistant Geologist in the mines department was arrested for his involvement in the massive illegality. His interrogation will begin today, sources said.
