Panaji (Goa):  In a bid to achieve 100 percent open defecation-free, Goa Government is planning to install mobile toilets at various construction sites and slum clusters across the State.

Labour Minister Rohan Khaunte held a meeting with Goa Labour Welfare Board and Goa Building and other Construction Welfare Board and issued directions towards implementing the decision.

Khaunte said that there is a vision of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar that under ‘Swacch Bharat campaign’, State has to be open defecation free. “I can say that maximum open defecation comes from construction sites, where the laborers are engaged in large number,” he said.

“So we are trying to put in place mobile toilets at the site to overcome open defecation issue,” Minister said.

Khaunte also pointed out that mobile toilets are also required in the slum clusters, where these laborers reside.
