GOA: CALANGUTE POLICE ARRESTED TWO NIGERIANS FOR CARRYING DRUGS

Calangute (Goa):  Calangute police have arrested  1. Mikel Okoro, age-32 yrs, R/o Anjuna, Bardez -Goa and 2. Adeleke Khalid, age-38 yrs, R/o Candolim, Bardez – Goa for illegal possession of narcotics substance Ganja in a narcotic raid conducted on 11/11/2017.
That the information was received about the accused Nigerian persons coming to Arish Shack on Candolim beach with drugs for selling purpose. Accordingly, a team was formed led by PI Jivba Dalvi and a narcotic was conducted. During the raid total narcotic substance Ganja worth Rs. 15,000 /- in the international market was seized from the accused person. The raid began at 21:30 hrs in the night and continued till 23:55 hrs in the midnight. The accused persons were placed under arrest under section 20(b)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act. The raiding team consisted of PI Jivba Dalvi, PSI Girish Padloskar, Vidyesh Pilgaokar, along with newly appointed Lady police sub-inspectors Sapna Gawas, Karishma Parulekar, police constables DineshMorajkar, Govind Shirodkar, Amir Naik, Sanjyot Kerkar and other staff. The Accused persons were produced on remand today and has been lodged in 14 days judicial custody.
Further after interrogation, it is revealed that both the accused persons are not in possession of passport or travel document. Hence two separate offenses are booked against both Nigerian Nationals under Sec 3(2)(a) and Sec 6 of  Passport Entry Rules act, Sec 3 and 4 of Passport Entry Act, Sec 7 of Foreigners Order Act R/w Sec 14 of Foreigners Act, 1946.
Further investigation is progressing with psi Girish  Padloskar under supervision of Pi Jivba Dalvi, SDPO Shri Kiran Paudwal and SP north Smt Chandan Choudhari (IPS)
