Panaji (Goa): A Petition has today been filed by Adv. Aires Rodrigues before Bombay High Court at Goa seeking a thorough probe into BJP National President Amit Shah’s illegal and unlawful public meeting held on 1st July at Goa’s Dabolim Airport. The matter was mentioned before the court today for urgent hearing and will be heard on Monday 10th July by a Division bench comprising of Justice F.M.Reis and Justice Nutan Sardessai.

Adv. Rodrigues has made the Secretary of Ministry of Civil Aviation, Chief Secretary of Goa  Director General of Police, the Airport Director and the Deputy Commandant of

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the Airport as parties to the petition.

In his petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, Adv. Rodrigues has sought directions to ensure that the rule of law is upheld by holding an inquiry for fixing the responsibility and taking action in accordance with law against the organisers and those responsible for that illegal public meeting held within the precincts of Dabolim Airport on July 1st 2017 in total violation of law.

Drawing the Court’s attention that on July 2nd he had addressed a joint complaint to the Secretary of Ministry of Civil Aviation, Chief Secretary of Goa and the Director General of Police demanding an immediate inquiry, Adv. Rodrigues has stated that as the authorities were acting as caged parrots and taking no action he is constrained to seek the intervention of the High Court.

Adv. Rodrigues in his petition has also statd that probably for the first time ever a public meeting was organized by a political party on 1st July 2017 within the high security precincts of an airport when the Goa BJP held a public meeting addressed by its party National President Amit Shah at Goa’s Dabolim Airport.

Submitting along with his petition photographs of Amit Shah’s public meeting at the Airport, Adv. Rodrigues has in his petition further stated that the BJP which organized that public meeting on one hand falsely claimed that all necessary permissions to hold that public meeting were obtained while at the same time also saying that the meeting was not pre-planned but was spontaneous.

Adv. Rodrigues in his petition has also submitted that the law enforcement authorities ought to have registered an F.I.R against the organizers of that illegal public meeting besides Amit Shah and all the other dignitaries present.
