Anura Prabhu Desai of Goa, who is the Brand ambassador of Geno Pharmaceuticals Ltd., won Bronze in senior women’s singles category at the V.V Natu Memorial All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament held from September 11 to 16 at Pune.

In Women’s singles pre-quarterfinals, Anura who is ranked India number one was up against another former number one India ranked player Neha Pandit from Maharashtra, whom she ousted 21-15, 9-21, 21-12. In the quarter-finals, she defeated Kanika Kanwal of Railways 25-23 19-21 21-17.

In the semifinals, Anura went down to Shreyanshi Pardesi of Airport Authority of India (AAI) 19-21,14-21 to settle for bronze.
