Panaji (GOA) The Congress party in Goa wants its vice president Rahul Gandhi to be immediately elevated as the party’s national President.

Sonia Gandhi is currently the President of the party. There has been strong demand from the party leaders across the country that Rahul be now appointed as party national chief.

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Shantaram Naik said that Rahul Gandhi is a man of masses. “I appeal that Rahul Gandhi should take over the Presidentship of the party,” Naik said.

He said that BJP, whose ancestors were in connivance with British during India’s Independence struggle, has not right to attack Gandhi.

Taking a dig at Narendra Modi, former Rajya Sabha MP said that calling Gandhi by names like ‘Pappu’ ‘Shehjada’, does not suit a person who holds the post of Prime Minister.

Congress leader tagged Modi as a ‘good marketer’, who is smart enough to market his falsehood and lies at international platform. “Modi is good at marketing his products and his prime product is, falsehood and lies, and not any achievement of his government or programmes and policies of BJP,” he alleged.
