Panaji (Goa): The director of Salgaoncar Mining Industries Ltd Arjun Salgaoncar is undergoing treatment for High Blood Pressure, no sooner he was taken to Crime Branch for interrogation in the massive mining scam probe.
The special investigation team (SIT) of CB is investigating nearly 13 cases of illegal mining involving high profile businessman and politicians, picked him from his office and taken to CB for questioning. But, sources said, he soon complained of chest pain. “We called the Ambulance and shifted him to Goa Medical College. Doctors advised him rest for at least two days. He was then shifted to Manipal hospital, ” said the source.
The SIT is presently questioning directors of mining firms which have come under scanner in the multi crore illegal iron ore mining case. Nearly four directors have been quizzed so far while proprieter of H L Nathurmal mining comlany Haresh Melwani moved the court seeking anticipatory bail. The special court has adjourned the matter for hearing on June 20.
