Panaji (GOA): Expanding its scope the Calangute-Candolim outline Development Plan (ODP) will now incorporate Arpora, Nagoa and Para coastal villages as part of it.
Disclosing the details to the reporters on Monday, North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA) chairman Michael Lobo said that with several commercial establishments like hotels coming up, the need was felt to increase the floor area ratio of Arpora, Nagoa and Para villages.
“Accordingly, the Arpora, Nagoa and Para areas will be now incorporated in the ODP. The FAR would be increased to 80 percent and 100 percent as per the demand. The hotels will get 100 percent FAR,” he said.
The NGPDA meanwhile has sought additional 60 days time from the government for keeping the ODP open for public suggestions and objection.
The draft ODP had been notified last year on November 23, 2016, and put in the public domain for suggestions and objections for a period of 60 days, however was stalled due to the election code of conduct which came into force from January 4, 2017.
“The last date for receiving suggestions and objections from the people ended in January end. But due to election code of conduct, the process got stalled. Now, we have written to government asking for additional 60 days time to seek public inputs,” Lobo said.
NGPDA is in process of declaring Kadamba Plateau was the new ODP with 100 percent FAR. “The plateau was earlier part of Panjim ODP. Now we have taken it out and declaring it as new ODP. It is quite a well developed area,” Lobo informed
