The first day of ‘The CHALLENGE’ B Division All Goa Basketball League tournament witnessed some high octane action with Assailants XII beating Sonics Brittos by a solitary point 28-27 to record their first victory of the league at Don Bosco Fatorda Basketball court.

The two young teams started the match with high energy with a neck-to-neck fight that went on right until the end but it was Elvis Pinto of Assailants XII who scored some crucial long-range shots and Sahil Desai, Ian D’souza and Nathan Gomes who played some tight defence to win the match for Assailants XII by a solitary point 28-27 to record their first victory of the league.

In the other matches of the day, Siolim Basketeers beat DBO Chargers 39-21 while in the women’s match DBO Lynx had an easy win over DBO Hawks 33-8. 

The League will be played every Sunday between 12 Goan Teams.
