Calangute, Goa: After a series of crackdown on prostitution dens, drug peddlers and IPL betting in the last over one week, Calangute police have booked an attempted murder and another case or molestation in less than 24 hours.
In the first case, the police are on a look out for a Mapusa resident who stabbed a car driver and escaped from the scene of crime and since then has been missing.
As per the complaint, Ajay Bhike stabbed one Noor Mulla, who works as a driver for one Annie D’Souza, who has filed the police complaint.
The incident happened at Calangute when Bhike stabbed Mulla in his abdomen, apparently, unprovoked. Mulla is currently admitted in Goa Medical College and Hospital.
Police has booked Bhike under section 307 of Indian Penal Code which deals with attempt to kill a person, while investigation is going on to known motive behind stabbing, and also trace the accused who is on the run.
In yet another case, Calangute police arrested one Mathew Cardozo for allegedly two girls, both happens to be sisters.
The complaint mentions that on Sunday, the accused trespassed into the house of duo and outraged their modesty. Cardozo has been arrested and remanded to police custody.
