When and how did you begin modelling? Were you studying or working before then?
I was always into fitness. That is something I love doing which is my passion. Ever since my college days, I used to love being in front of the camera. So, that was when I decided to turn my passion into profession.
Why modelling when you could have settled in for a more stable permanent career?
Because a dream with passion is worth risking a stable career.
Tell me about your first assignment. If any, how did it happen? What was the experience like (make this answer as personal as possible)
It was in mid July 2015 at Delhi when the summers were on the peak and it was an outdoor shoot for a famous clothing brand. It was shot in Khan market. Also, I had to move in the corners and street of Khan market to get the best pictures. It was crazy hot and I was doing some topless shots. At the same time, many pedestrians were complementing me and I was loving the attention. So at that time I realized, regardless of how hot was out there, modelling was definitely something I love doing.
What do you feel makes you a good model? Your face? Your body? Your attitude? As opposed to others?
As I have mentioned it before, to be a good model, it is not just about his face, body or attitude, but a combination of a whole lot of qualities like confidence and very strong belief in oneself. However so, I also believe for a good model, A face should be like pouring smile facing any problem no matter what, A body, should be with all its muscles and power to control and project himself in doing the right thing. An attitude should be to respect all kinds of living beings and love his country. And all this is what makes a good model really good, I believe.
Why Rubaru Mr. India when there are so many local pageants that happen?
Rubaru is one of my personal favourite. I respect all local pageants but my passion towards Rubaru made me step down to this platform.
Did Mr. India just happen to you along the way – or were you preparing to take part in the pageant?
Definitely it did not just happen in my way, I was determined, sure and confident to be a part of it since the day when I quit my job for few years while my complete focus was pinned down on creating a smart profile for this Rubaru Mr. India project. I am more than glad that my passion finally led me here, after all.
Tell us about how you train for it. What is the regimen like? What are the challenges involved?
Well, unlike the other competitors, when I got to know that I am selected for Rubaru Mr. India 2018, I was not doing modelling or preparing for the same profession. I was in Dubai working with a corporate company. My body was not in the best of shapes and I had lost all the practices. I just took it as a challenge and started preparing for it with my current life and schedule. It was tough to manage both but I couldn’t say no because I had got the chance to do something I really love.
What makes you feel you should be the chosen one? What’s different about you as a contestant?
I am sure everyone of my competitor has a lot of experience, but I am here to compete with anyone but myself. My own fears, my own capabilities. My passion led me here and with my hard work, I’ll conquer the world. So what is best about me that I feel is, I am versatile to all the conditions and thus, a different creative person too.
How will winning the Mr. India pageant will be going to affect your life?
Mr. India is not just a title but also a mark that’s left on one’s soul for his lifetime. I really don’t know, how would my future look like after winning such a great title, but one thing I’ll be sure about is that I won’t stop being myself and will continue to learn even at each and every stage of my life. Be it any industry or any platform.
What are your views and thoughts for the cause camping of save girl child and how you will educate to stop this in our country?
This is a very important campaign and I totally support this issue. It’s important to educate our fellow country citizens to believe in equality amongst males and females. This is the natural life process. Vanishing a girl child is causing extinction to our entire human race. Women are as important as men, or maybe even more. Their responsibility towards the society is higher than any man can ever think of. So while he kills the unborn if it’s a girl, it is a crime against nature and we all are unfortunately nearing the prison. However, I am sure it has decreased down to 80-85% lately, but education on gender equality given personally in villages or through various videos should be undertaken. Also, I feel our Bollywood movies are doing a great job in educating the masses as well.
