Panaji (Goa) Congress party today accused BJP led government of being ‘anti bahujan’ while claiming that the samaj is being used by the saffron party to strengthen its base in State politics.
Addressing press conference, All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary Girish Chodankar said that he is addressing media on behalf of BJP Bahujan samaj leaders and workers, whose voices are being suppressed by the party and are feeling threatened.
He charged that BJP is currently in revenge mood, as the party believes that it due to bahujan samaj, who voted against them, that their vote share declined in the 2017 assembly election.
BJP was reduced to 14 MLAs from 21 MLAs.
“Several Bahujan samaj leaders from BJP are in touch with congress party seeking our support to raise voice on their behalf. They say that Parrikar is seeking revenge from them for party’s failure in 2017 election. They say that their voices are suppressed and are being threatened,” he stated.
Chodankar said that the samaj is being used as vote bank for elections by the BJP ever since it has established in the State politics.
“Post election, the samaj is neglected. No proper representation to them in the various government compositions, nor in jobs,” he said.
