Panaji (Goa): Ahead of parliemanentary polls and the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly, BJP Goa unit has been dragged into controversy with its senior functionary accused of allegedly harassing his daughter-in-law for dowry.
Party’s vice president Anil Hoble, his wife Sandhya and their son (victim’s husband) Milind are charged with allegedly assaulting and harassing the victim for dowry in a complaint to Women Police Station.
The complainant – victim’s mother has also mentioned that Hoble family threatened the former’s family of attacking with a koita. The woman’s family were allegedly physically assaulted at Hoble house when the victim was narrating the incident to them.
The police team rescued the victim and two underage children from her in-laws house at Merces a while ago.
As per the complaint, the accused had been demanding dowry even before her daughter wed Milind in 2009. The couple has a six year old son and two and half year old daughter.
