KARWAR

In a major tragedy, a boat carrying devotees of Narsimha Devasthan temple overturned off Karwar coast in Kali river near Kurumgad.

26 people are feared drowned in the tragedy with 8 bodies already recovered. The rescue workers have saved 17 people in the search operation, while 1 body is still reported missing.

All devotees on board are said to be residents of Kadwad and Koppal who were on a visit to Narsimha Devasthan temple festival.

Search and rescue operation by Navy is in full swing.
