Panaji (Goa) The boiling mining issue is the first serious matter that the three-member Cabinet Advisory Committee (CAC) will be dealing with.
CAC comprising of PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, TCP Minister Vijay Sardessai and Urban Development Minister Francis D’Souza held its first informal meeting today afternoon, to understand their powers and scope of work.
Before leaving for his further medical treatment overseas, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had constituted CAC, giving them powers to clear proposals upto Rs five crore.
Speaking to TNV, Sardessai confirmed that the committee met today. “It was informal meeting to know the scope of work and how to go ahead as far as some major State related issues are concern,” he said.
“We will also take up mining issue,” he said when asked whether committee will discuss the ongoing crises that are going to hit State in form of mining closer.
Minister also said that no decision has been taken yet as when a cabinet should be called to pass the resolution seeking Centre’s intervention in ensuring mining activities continue.
