Vasco/Old Goa (Goa): Goa police on Sunday arrested four Bihar-based youths from two different examination halls across the State for impersonating during the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) held today.
Four youths, all from Bihar – Randhir Singh (21), Diwakar Kumar (22), Mohammad Chanchal (28) and Abhishekh Singh (23), were arrested by State police when they were found impersonating during the exams.
“Two youths were arrested by Verna police when they were found impersonating another student at a private school located in Vasco city,” a senior police official said.
Randhir Singh and Diwakar Kumar were picked up from the examination centre when a student complaint that one of the youth was answering the exam in his name.
“During the interrogation of both the youth, they informed that two more of their accomplices were appearing for exam at another private school located in Old Goa,” the senior police official added.
All the four youths have been booked under section 419 (cheating by personation), 420 (cheating) and 511 (attempting to steal someone’s right).
Around 2000 students answered NEET held across the state.
