Members of the Goa Mining People’s Front (GMPF) on Sunday met BJP national president Amit Shah, to discuss a solution for the resumption of mining in which has been banned by the Supreme court since February last year.
In a statement released by the GMPF to the media after meeting Shah in Delhi, the Front said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief has assured to find a solution to the present mining issue.
South Goa MP Narendra Savoikar, who was also present at the meeting with Shah, said that the delay in finding a resolution to the mining crisis is because the Central government is considering all legal aspects of the cases.
“The BJP president has assured the mining dependents that the government will soon come to a conclusion and is already working on the same,” Savoikar said.
