This Thursday 4th April at 6.00 p.m. at the Cinephile Film Club, Sachin Chatte will host the screening of the classic, Ben Hur (1959). Winner of 11 Oscars, this all-time great film is a treat to watch on the big screen. The details are as given below. Based on the novel by Lew Wallace, Ben Hur is a film that hardly needs any introduction. A cult classic, the film is known for its scale and brilliance in storytelling. With contributions to the screenplay by a bunch of writers (including Gore Vidal and Christopher Fry), the film had the biggest budget ever, when it was made, including 10,000 extra and around 3000 animals. Charlton Heston plays the lead role of Judah Ben Hur in this Roman tale that features the famous chariot race.
