CIRCLE OFFICER CAUGHT RED HANDED BY ACB

PUNE:  A 53-year-old circle officer of Kothrud has been caught red handed by the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 for updating the name of a land purchase in 7/12 land extracts.

The arrested accused has been identified as Balkrishna Jambhale, a resident of Kothrud.

According to ACB, the complainant has sold a land in Baner and he had applied for addition of the name of the land purchase to certify it. He also asked for 7/12 land extracts soon from the concerned talathi.

The bribe demand was verified on June 23 and a trap was laid on Tuesday. He was caught taking the bribe in a vehicle outside Pratik Society in Kothrud.

An FIR has been registered against him with Kothrud police station under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
