Panaji (GOA) Almost a month after MV Lucky 7, the offshore casino vessel drifted at Miramar beach, the Congress party has demanded that an FIR be filed against Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar for abetment of criminal negligence that led to the incident.
“We demand that an FIR be filed against Parrikar for complete negligence. Those who have abetted the offence are equal culprit and responsible. The life of crew members was put to risk,” party President Shantaram Naik told reporters.
He said that offence should be registered against Chief Minister who allowed the vessel to enter River Mandovi resulting into the current situation.
MV Lucky 7, promoted by Golden Globe Hotel Private Limited (GGHPL) was allowed to enter River Mandovi following High Court directions.
In mid July, the vessel, due to rough sea condition, initially got grounded at Aguada bay and later drifted toward Miramar beach.
The vessel would be towed back to Mormugao Port Trust (MPT), where it was earlier anchored.
