Margao (Goa): With the recent hot-mix work on the four-lane Margao-Navelim road, the speed breakers have been leveled in such a way, causing risk to motorists and pedestrians.

“It is indeed astonishing as to how the engineers executing the work could not provide the desired hump at the spots near Sitara Motors and Odyssey complex,” stated Savio Coutinho, former Chairperson of MMC.

Both the areas being accident prone spots, speed breakers were demanded by the locals.

Coutinho demanded that the speed breakers be immediately restored at the earliest before any tragedy occurs. He further said that the concerned officials should realise that the monsoons are just round the corner, and if the speed breakers are not restored immediately, it will not be possible once the rains start.

He once again reminded the concerned authorities about the notified zebra crossing near Odyssey complex which requires to be painted on top priority, in view of the schools re-opening next week.

Coutinho warned the concerned authorities that failure to restore the speed breakers at the notified spots shall force the public to take onto the streets.
