Panaji (Goa): After a rap from the High Court of Bombay at Goa over failure to curb matka cases and subsequent assurance from the government to form special investigation team for the urpose, Crime Branch arrested six persons were arrested in three separate matka raids today.
Chandrashekhar Gawas, Tulsidas Naik Hemant Palekar, Pavan Kolamkar, Tushar Mandrekar and Shitij Chari were arrested from Panjim and Sada whereas the teams carried out simultaneous raids, but Suraj Chodankar alias Balan managed to give the cops a slip.
In the raid, the police seized some cash and a car which was used to accept baits while moving across the capital city.
