Panaji (GOA) Minister for Housing and Saligao MLA Jayesh Salgaoncar has demand that the Saligao village be declared as ‘heritage village’.

Salgaoncar today meet Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar demanding that Saligao village be promoted for heritage village tourism.

“The village has preserved the heritage. The Saligao’s Mae de Deus church known for its gothic architecture is one of its biggest attractions,” Minister told reporters.

He said that the tourism department needs to work to revamp the lost glory of the village, which can be an added attraction to tourism as ‘heritage tourism’.

He also demanded that the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) should restart the Heritage Festival in Saligao, which has been stopped since 2014.
