DOCUMENTARY CREATING AWARENESS ON CLEANLINESS TO BE SCREENED IN THEATERS IN GOA

Panaji (Goa) In a bid to achieve the goal of garbage free by 2019 and to create awareness in this regard amongst the citizen, a three-minute video documentary on garbage collection and segregation will be shown in every movie theatres in Goa soon.

The Solid Waste Management Corporation (SWMC) is currently working on preparing the documentary.

The documentary will also highlight how the Saligao Waste Treatment Plant functions and also the difficulties it face due to non- segregation of waste it receives.

“I will make theatres to show this documentary before screening the movie. I will make is compulsory,” Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said.

Chief Minister said that government is looking for an option of appointing over 500 Certified Garbage Service Managers, who would handle and dispose of garbage from hotels and commercial establishments in scientific manner.

He also announced to launch 40-50 buses, running on bio-gas in next six months.
