Panaji (Goa) Panaji Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Vijayalaxmi Shivolkar today reserved for August 19th her order on the preliminary objection raised by Adv. Aires Rodrigues that there was no affidavit to the reply by Police Sub-Inspector Sandhya Gupta to the petition filed by Suchitra Shirodkar seeking Court monitored investigation into the criminal case registered against her son-in-law Goa BJP Vice President and Chairman of OBC Corporation Anil Hoble.
Appearing on behalf of Suchitra Shirodkar, Adv. Rodrigues submitted to the Court that the reply filed by PSI Sandhya Gupta had by law to be accompanied by an affidavit and that infact the reply ought to have been filed not by the PSI but the officer in charge of the Women’s Police Station.
Adv. Rodrigues further submitted that PSI Sandhya Gupta had malafiedly been derailing the investigation because the main accused Anil Hoble was politically very well connected being the Vice-President of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and Chairman of the OBC Corporation.
Adv. Rodrigues also submitted that PSI Sandhya Gupta was at the mercy of the ruling BJP as she is currently facing trial on bribery charges pending against her before the Special Court under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Acting on a complaint filed by Anil Hoble’s mother-in-law Suchitra Shirodkar, the Panaji Women’s Police Station on 12th July registered an F.I.R against Anil Hoble, his wife Sandhya and son Milind under Sections 498-A, 323, 506(ii) read with 34 of Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 & 4 of Dowry Prevention Act.
Suchitra Shirodkar has in her petition to the JMFC sought directions to the police to properly investigate properly the case against Anil Hoble his wife & son and that the Court monitor the investigation as the accused are politically very influential.
