- What difference do you find in the life before and after Rubaru Mr India contest and your success in it?
Well, in my opinion success is like a never ending journey, as there is so much to achieve in this beautiful world. Every morning I wake up and find myself a better version of me than I was yesterday. So, for me every day is a new opportunity to achieve something new and be more successful than I was yesterday. Rubaru Mr India pageant helped in pushing my limits and trying something new, something different. Even though. After the pageants, the best change that I have experienced is that now I have more well-wishers and friends than I had earlier. So, that is the best part of getting under the spotlight, you become a part of a family that has 1.3 billion people in it.
- How much has Mr India fame helped you to emerge as a front runner in your career?
Rubaru Mr India pageant turned out to be the turning point of my life. It gave me the opportunity to make my motherland proud. Earlier, I was just known as Mohit Singh, now I am known as Mohit Singh, the first and only Indian till date to win the Mister United Continents pageant. It does feel so great when you get recognition for the deeds that you have done. I feel truly humbled and honoured that I was able to make my country proud. It is a very rare experience that a very few people have in their lives. The proud feeling of making your nation proud is the best feeling ever. It could not have been possible without Rubaru Mr India pageant.
- What would be your advice for those who cannot make to the important event like Mr India, which can give the much needed push in career?
I firmly believe in the fact that, everything happens for a reason and the best is yet to come. I have followed this in my life and I would advise the same to such aspiring individuals. May be fate has better options for them in store. We all must take our failures as new lessons of life and every single challenge as an opportunity to discover something new. If you really wish to achieve something then keep working for it until you succeed.
- What are the elements that one require to be Mr India?
Mr India is someone to whom young individuals can look up to as source of inspiration. It is not necessarily important that one needs have the most good-looking face or the most attractive body to be a Mr India. One needs to have that spark in him that when he enters the room, he kind of seizes that moment and is capable of holding that presence. He needs to have a likeable personality and an attractive attitude. He must be humble and treats everyone single person with equal respect and does not discriminate amongst individuals.
- What are the things that you have learnt from Mr India contest?
The Rubaru Mr India pageant helped me in discovering my hidden talents. It helped me grow as a person. I became a better version of myself. I learnt that there are no shortcuts to success. We need to put some efforts to be successful. The journey provided me with some of the greatest friends of my life. It taught me how to take criticism in a positive way and use that to improve myself. It taught me how to handle some of the toughest situations with a very calm and dignified approach. Most importantly, it made me realise that nothing is impossible; if you are determined to achieve something then you’ll surely achieve that.
- How do you balance between a personal and professional life as you have suddenly turned into a busy person?
Well, I was never busy for my well-wishers and supporters and will never ever be. I always try to take out some time for the people who have supported me in some way or the other in my life. Other than that I would like to answer that question with two words, Time Management. At times it gets difficult to manage things all by myself that’s where my family and colleagues step in to make the things fall in right the places. I always make sure when I am with my family or friends then I am 100% with them and when I am at work, there goes only one thing in my that I have to complete the tasks assigned to me in time slot allotted to me. That’s something I learnt with time. I also used to get puzzled up at times earlier however when you have such an amazing people supporting you, be it your family members, your friends or people at work things automatically get easier and most importantly, the almighty whose hand has always been on my head.
- How do you rate Indian models compared to the international? Do you think we have inherent positive/negative in us?
That is a very subject thing as every individual is unique and is special in his own way. Besides, there are positive and negative traits in every individual which does not depend upon nationality, race, ethnicity or gender. When I went for my international pageant, Mister United Continents in the Philippines, I met models from all over the world and each one of them possessed some unique spark. Every single model I met there had a different personality and a different perspective on life. They had different strengths and areas of excellence that made them stood out amongst the rest. So, just on the basis of nationality, it would be really hard and nearly impossible for me to pick out some points.
- What would be the advice for the young generation to want to make modeling or acting as their career?
One advice that I would like to give to individuals who are willing to enter this fascinating world of glitz and glamour would be, “never give up”. Keep chasing your dreams until they turn into reality. Be humble, work hard and never give. You will surely succeed. I a am living proof of that. At times, you might come across certain situations where you feel like I am not fit for this place or any other negative thought like that, well, during those dark times, just remember the reason you started all this.
