Pune: A 32-year-old man was cheated to the tune of Rs 25000 by a man who had assured him two mobile phones in Rs 25000. The incident occurred between April 30 to May 25 this year. A case of cheating is lodged at Swargate police station in this regard. As per information given by the Swargate police station the complainant Ashish Suryanvashi came in contact of the accused Ashwin Ram Kanhan through social media site Facebook. Ashwin shared his phone number with Ashish and the duo were in touch through ‘Whatsapp’. Ashwin had informed Ashish that he works for JR Marketing firm in Kanyakumari , Tamilnadu.Later as Ashwin told Ashish about the mobile phone offer which included a ‘Samsung ace’ and ‘one plus T’ mobile phone for Rs 25000. Following this Ashish transfered the amount online but never recieved the mobile phones. Ashish in his complaint told police that Ashwin has blocked him on whatsapp and never responds to his phone calls. POlice suspect Ashwin may be involved in similar such crimes. Swargate police is investigating the case.
