FDA TO TRAIN 200 TEACHERS ON HEALTHY LIFE STYLE

Panaji (Goa) Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) to train 200 teachers as ‘Health & Wellness Coordinators’ to educate parents, teachers and students on the need to adopt safe and good nutrition to the children.

FDA in association with the Directorate of Education and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) launched the ‘Safe and Nutritious food’ in schools. As part of the initiative, directorate of education identified total 200 schools, hundred each in North and South Goa, who participated in the workshop held on October 10.

One teacher from each of the 200 schools would be trained designated as Health and Wellness Coordinators, who in turn then shall impart training to their other school Teachers, Students and Parents at their respective schools.

 “The teachers will educate and make parents and students understand the need to adopt the Health food life styles and deliver the message of safe and nutritious food initiatives through both curricular and co-curricular activities,” FDA said.
