Gladiators, Vasco emerged champions of the Festival Badminton League Team championship organised by Ponda Suttlers in collaboration with Goa Badminton Association and the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at Sports Complex, Ponda.

 

In a closely fought finals, the Gladiators Team put it across hosts Ponda Shuttlers to walk away with the winners’ trophy. The festival championship was competed between 8 teams, featuring players from all across Goa, with 7 doubles pairs battling it out in a league team format.

 

Dragons, Panjim and Professionals, Margao had to settle for the semifinals prizes. South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar, Bhaskar Khandeparkar, chairman, A.J. De Almeida School, Goa Badminton Association officials Narahar Thakur (president), Sandeep Heble (secretary) and organising club members Anil Painguinkar (president), Sandeep Khandeparkar (Secretary) and Sohan Kelekar (Tournament coordinator) graced the closing function.
