Margao (Goa): After hitting the blind case for several days, Goa police have finally arrested a 50-year-old man Francis Pereira from Curtorim which has given them a major breakthrough in series of desecration cases.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) which has been patrolling entire South District chased Pereira and nabbed him at Curtorim after he tried to desecrate another Holy Cross.

Police have said that he has confessed of desecrating all the other Holy Crosses in the district for last fortnight. The formal statement in this regard would be issued by police later in the day.

All the senior police officials were busy in South Goa. Director General of Police Muktesh Chandar will address a press conference during the day to reveal more details.
