FTII ARCHIVES WILL NOW BE AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC VIEWING

Pune – Punekars will get a golden opportunity to watch rare and acclaimed student works, Student films from FTII archives will now be available for public viewing. Under a new initiative PADAARPAN : MOMENTOUS MILESTONES, open screening of student films, old and new, would be held every month in FTII Main Theatre. Entry is free but on first-come-first-served basis.

Shatrughan Sinha, eminent actor, Lok Sabha MP and FTII alumnus will inaugurate PADAARPAN: MOMENTOUS MILESTONES at 3 pm on 5th August 2017. The first edition of PADAARPAN : MOMENTOUS MILESTONES will be marked by screenings of 6 student films. The opening film is AN ANGRY YOUNG MAN, a film in which Shatrughan Sinha acted as a FTII student in 1970.

“PADAARPAN is a Sanskrit word. It means, debut, the first step. The event is a celebration of the early talents of FTII’s alumni community, a festival of their momentous milestones. These are the cinematic footprints of film makers,technicians and artistes who have made FTII proud by registering their perceptible presence in the world of cinema and television. PADAARPAN is a rewinding in reverence.”, Bhupendra Kainthola, Director, FTII Pune said explaining the concept behind PADAARPAN.
