GOA: 17 MT ORE EXPORTED IN LAST TWO YEARS; CM

Panaji (Goa) :Over 17 million tons of iron ore is exported from Goa in last two years, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said today.

As per the information tabled on the Floor of the House by Parrikar, from September 2015 to October 2017, 32.29 million tons of fresh ore was extracted of which export during the period was 17.64 million tons. 

Of the total 89 mining leases, which were renewed, 44 commenced operation during the period.

Government earned revenue of around Rs 710.40 crores through fresh iron ore production, which includes 506.38 crores on royalty.

Government also earned revenue of Rs 1042.35 crore through e-auction of 11 million tons ore.
