GOA: 35 TRANSPORT OFFICERS TRANSFERRED AHEAD OF NEW YEAR

In a major reshuffle in the Transport Department ahead of the New Year, the government has transferred 12 Motor Vehicle Inspectors (MVI) and 23 Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors (AMVI) with instructions to join the new place of posting by January 1, 2018. 

As per the order, MVIs and AMVIs from Margao, Panaji, Enforcement Offices at Margao and Panaji, Quepem, Pernem, Vasco, Canacona, Bicholim, Dharbandora and Ponda are transferred to different places across both the districts. 

“The above MVIs and AMVIs to be relieved by the concerned Controlling Officers with instructions to report to the new place of posting on January 1, 2018. They shall not avail joining period or any type till they assume charge at their new place of posting. Non-compliance of this order will be viewed seriously,” reads the order issued by the department. 

Senior officers in the department have called the transfers a ‘routine process.’ The development comes at the time when the enforcement in the State strengthened in view of huge tourists pouring in being the peak tourist season.
